Board types
Columns and timelines
These boards are the two types of roadmaps we offer and are specialized for communication plans to internal audiences.
- Columns — build roadmaps oragnized by columns in order to simplify complex relationships between objectives, initiatives, and features and plan them against releases or feature statuses. Great for Kanban boards!
- Timelines — build roadmaps organized around a single timeline, allowing you to plan with objectives, initiatives, and features over broad intervals without sacrificing the ability to get granular where you need to. They're like simplified Gantt charts!
Documents
Designed to help you create, manage, and share essential documentation within Productboard instead of having to go to an external tool like Notion, Google Docs, or Confluence.
Document boards behave like other boards in that they live in teamspaces and are integrated with your workspace and product hierarchy, meaning you're able to embed items like features and insights in-line during a discussion or tag teammates in a comment to get their attention.
Grids
Used for planning and prioritization management. They’re similar to spreadsheets in that you’ll be working in rows and columns of data, but grids are specifically designed to help you visualize and manage the connections between your objectives, initiatives, and features so that you can prioritize your work according to your strategic plans.
