Whoops now what?

It’s important to be careful and conscientious about your social postings, but occasional errors will still happen. The key thing is to keep calm and follow the right procedure to address the issue. If you feel you’ve made a post in bad judgment, contact press@productboard.com right away and we can work together to address your situation.

Erroneous tweets or other social media posts need to be corrected as quickly and transparently as possible. Deleting the post is not an appropriate reaction.

We follow the AP style for corrections, for example:

Correction: Jack Dorsey will be joining the keynote at CONNECT 2014 (previously we incorrectly said Tim Cook): mul.ey/uxr9ph

If you say something on a social network that you need to take down, you can delete it via the policy of the network you’re using. Know, however, that deletion does not remove the post as it may have already been shared with others. Contact press@productboard.com immediately if you think you made a work-related post in poor judgment.

Be mindful that any opinions or personal information they disclose about themselves or colleagues may be linked to the Productboard name. That's true even if staffers restrict their pages to viewing only by friends. We recommend customizing your privacy settings on your social networks to match your goals for what you want to share and with whom. However, know that virtually nothing is truly private on the Internet. It's easy for someone to copy material out of restricted pages and redirect it elsewhere for wider viewing.
