No matter which platform you’re using, and whether it’s personal or professional, as a Productboard representative there are certain basic rules of the road to keep in mind.
INSPIRE. GUIDE. DELIGHT.
Even though social has grown into its own channel for marketing, it’s still a close cousin to brand messaging.
Check out the Messaging chapter above for specific guidelines
Be transparent |
Be specific |
Be sure before you post |
Please clearly disclose your relationship to Productboard whether you are an employee or partner. |
Don't make general claims about Productboard’s technology or products. Aim to solve a specific problem or enhance a conversation with specific insight. Only bring in Productboard when it adds value to the conversation and guide people to learn more by including links to additional information. Avoid being salesy. Be human, be yourself. |
Never reveal proprietary or confidential information. If you ever have a doubt in your mind about sharing something — don’t share it. Questions about what you can share or not? Contact us press@productboard.com |
Don’t get ahead of yourself by getting ahead of us |
Never talk about |
Turn the other cheek |
Avoid posting |
Avoid conflict and report abuse |
As a close corollary to above, be sure to keep quiet on any and all potentially confidential communications and announcements like launches, updates, funding, or a potential IPO. As a general rule of thumb, if it hasn’t been officially announced publicly by Productboard comms or PR, don’t share. We definitely appreciate taking initiative, but not on all things. |
Social buzz is a double-edged sword that can just as easily shred a brand as amplify it. Let’s keep things fun and avoid ANY discussions and posts about :
1.Politics 5.Gender issues
6.Religion |
If someone is flaming or complaining about our company or products, it’s a delicate matter that needs to be carefully addressed. Bring it to our attention at press@productboard.com. In short: never engage in negativity – just walk away. |
